Golden Sands resort is located within 17 km of the centre of Varna. The central beach in the resort is the most attractive place for all visitors. The beach area, covered with golden sand, has a stretch of 3.5 km. The beaches are popular with the Bulgarian and foreign holiday-makers due to their cleanliness and good maintenance, but owing to the great interest in Golden Sands at the height of the season they are heavily overcrowded in places.
